Hackney Vegan PIZZA NIGHT! Thursday 31st July 2014

Come along to our gathering at Black Cat Cafe’s PIZZA NIGHT at Black Cat Cafe, 76 Clarence Road, London E5 8HB from 6.30pm.
Meet other lovely Hackney people who care about the same thing as you do: making Hackney a greener place…
…while scoffing Soprano-inspired pizzas like The Silvio, (topped with caramelised onions, aubergine, tomatoes, pine nuts and humous) baked in a proper pizza oven.

Eating out in Hackney – a big fat vegan map to follow shortly…

bcvcBlack Cat  A fantastic vegan, not-for-profit café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as coffees, teas and cakes. Look out for special cuisine nights – most recently an all-Irish menu for St Patrick’s Day – as well as evening events.

Café Gossip        A long-established vegetarian and vegan tea and coffee emporium. This cosy café has a huge selection of teas to choose from as well scrumptious (Manna) cakes and light lunches.

Ocean Café         Situated in Harvest wholefood shop is Ocean café, a vegetarian café where you a fresh juice or hot drink. The quality and variety of cakes on offer are outstanding, and mostly vegan!

Bodega Café      Known as ‘London’s most secret vegan café’, this establishment is a little of the beaten track. However, they are particularly known for their coffee and serve light lunches and cakes throughout the day.

The Castle Café Visitors at the Castle Climbing Centre will be rewarded with this friendly vegetarian and vegan café open for lunch and dinner. Recently on the menu was a delicious tomato and chickpea stew, cheese toasties and vegan millionaire’s shortbread. Not to be missed!

Organic and Natural Café              This café is situated within an organic vegetarian and vegan shop. They have many options to choose from, serving a variety of salads as well as bakes, lasagne and quiches. There is garden seating in the summer.

Rio Cinema         An independent cinema serving a selection of vegan cakes, popcorn and samosas. Yum!

Hoxton Beach    This café serves vegan falafel and salads using organic and local sourced ingredients. Hoxton Beach also sell their falafel wraps in a variety of food outlets including Chatsworth Road Market.

Wholefoods Food Bar    Situated in this small Wholefoods store is a hot and cold food bar with vegetarian and vegan options. Pizza is also made to take-away.

Rasa       This popular and well-loved vegetarian South Indian restaurant has twice been awarded Time Out Best Vegetarian Restaurant. Always full to the brim with diners, booking ahead is highly recommended, as is the beetroot curry!

Creperie Du Monde        A popular creperie with vegan sweet and savoury options. Try a delicious fresh juice while you’re there!

La Casa Del Burrito           This casual Mexican restaurant and take-away opened fairly recently but already has a loyal following. Vegan tacos, burritoes and nachos on the menu!

Voodoo Rays     Serving American-style pizza by the slice, Voodoo Rays offer one or two vegan pizzas every day. Some of the best pizza you will ever eat – trust us! Open late.

The Russet          Café and events space with a relaxed and friendl atmosphere. Menu offers vegan options using locally sourced ingredients.

Pacific Social Club             This fun café serves vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. Top tip: try the avocado on toast!

Thai café              Small, family-run Thai restaurant with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, including home made ice cream!

Yumyums            Well-established Thai restaurant with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The cocktails are definitely worth a look: try the Red Snapper.

Tatreez A new but already popular Palestinian restaurant with a choice of hot and cold vegan salads, snacks and breads.

Fish House          A great fish and chip shop serving vegetarian chips and ice creams and sorbets for pudding.

Namo    Vietnamese restaurant with a modern twist, serving interesting vegan options.

Lumiere               A weird and wonderful juice bar which is also open some evenings.

Pavillion café      Organic café serving popular vegetarian and vegan breakfasts as well as other food throughout the day.

Dalston Superstore         Hip restaurant, club and art space serving tasty food day and evening. Look out for the vegan Midler burger: curried tofu, avocado and roasted beetroot. Yum!

Hackney Bureau               Friendly café serving light meals and snacks. Very accomodating to dietry requirements with plents of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

Yalla Yalla             Informal Lebanese and Middle-Eastern food served at a pop-up version of this successful eatery.
