London MFM mapCould your school promote the Meat Free option on Mondays?

Our Aim: We want to see the children of London eating healthy food, to reduce the rising tide of child obesity and reduce their carbon footprint and impact on the environment.

If your school could promote meat-free meals on a Monday, we want to hear from you so please email Thomas on, call 07789 322 920 or tweet us @LondonVeganSoc.

Get your school involve in three easy steps:

1. Check out the great free resources for teachers, caterers and parents…

2. Ask your schools caterers to promote the meat-free meal on a Monday, and display our flyers in the canteen and reception.

3. Tweet us a picture @LondonVeganSoc or share on our Facebook Page to encourage other schools to get involved.

earthBetter for the Environment: Meat is a high-energy product using large amounts of oil, land, fresh water and 90% of the crops grown to create meat are wasted in the process. The livestock sector is currently “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global” Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

healthheartBetter for your Health: Many of the world’s leading health organisations now encourage a reduction in the amount of meat people consume. Oxford University’s department of public health found that eating meat no more than three times a week could prevent 31,000 deaths from heart disease, 9,000 deaths from cancer and 5,000 deaths from stroke, as well as save the NHS £1.2 billion in costs each year.
