Barnet – 38 members – Leaders: Luke Berma Hotspots: Rani Vegetarian Indian restaurant, Izgara in Finchley and Whetstone has options. Luke says “I’ve been vegan for 6 years and lived in Barnet almost my entire life. I am involved in environmental projects, campaigning etc and look forward to meeting people and helping out.”
Camden (50 members) Led by Robb Masters and Gary Macindoe. The most vegan friendly borough in London with an enormous selection of restaurants, shops and cafes.
Enfield (12 members) Led by Jo-Ann Brown. Try out the Village Food store. There is also: Enzo’s – Chase Side, Chennai Spice – Hertford Road and of course Pizza Express – Enfield Town.
Hackney Vegan & Veggie Society (67 members) We need a leader! Loads of vegan friendly things here, with Shoreditch being the most vegan friendly place in the borough. Pogo died, our first meeting at The Black Cat Vegan Cafe on 21st November 2013 went very well, and we are making plans to encourage more local businesses to serve more vegan food.

- Islington (12 members) run by Alyssa – meet up coming soon!
- Westminster – (4 members) We need a leader! There are 3 vegan politicians in Parliament – find out more here. Next event: Yearly Remembrance Sunday Service for Animals at the Animals’ War Memorial, Park Lane, London (Sunday 10th November 2013).
Also, in Hackney, the Second Sunday lunch (formerly run by London Vegans, now run by London Vegan Meetup) happens on on the Second Sunday of every month (with occasional moves to avoid clashes) in the Black Cat cafe. RSVP at London Vegan Meetup (2,220 members)
In terms of veganism thriving in these boroughs, there are a couple of really big events organised by other vegans every month:
The Fat Gay Vegan’s London Vegan Potluck happens in Camden every month. You can RSVP for that on his website, London Vegan Meetup, or the FB event.
The venerable London Vegans hold monthly talks on the last Wednesday of every month bar December, in Millman Street Community Rooms. No RSVP needed.
These are both really central – near Holborn tube. (They’re on the N London page because Thomas puts Camden in N London).
